I was born and raised in Richmond, IN and have lived here my entire life. I started collecting coins in 1970 when my Dad give me a Whitman coin folder to start collecting Lincoln Memorial Cents. I looked through my parents pocket change to start filling the holes in this folder. As I got older my interest turned to Wheat Cents and Jefferson Nickels. By the time I was in the third grade I had a paper route delivering a local community newspaper called the Graphic Press. Once a month I would go door to door to collect the fee for the newspaper. I would always enjoy looking through the change to see if I could add any coins to my collection. By the time I was a teenager, my parents would purchase a subscription to Coin World magazine or Numismatic News for me as a Christmas gift. With this subscription a free weekly classified ad was included. I would then place a classified ad to trade 90% silver coins for Wheat cent rolls. After I would make some trades, I would then advertise the Wheat cent rolls for sale in the Graphic Press. This is how I started dealing in coins. As an adult my interest in the coin hobby grew. With working various full time jobs I decided to start Heartland Coins in 2001. I would invest as much time as I could in building this business as well as work full time and raise a family. In 2022 I left the job market and now have more time to invest into this business and the coin hobby. I set up at coin shows in Indiana and Ohio with the help of my wife and son. I look forward to seeing the Richmond Coin Club prosper and grow. With all of us, I know this is possible.
